Condition When Bought: Fair condition. This is one of the first video games I bought. This unit originally came in a Donkey Kong Jr. cabinet! Luckily I found a Donkey Kong Jr. unit in a Donkey Kong cabinet and simply swapped everything. There was no side art and no front instruction or coin decals. The joystick was loose too. The original marquee light fixture didn't work.

Improvements Made:

  • Swapped all Donkey Kong parts into the correct dedicated Nintendo cabinet (blue)
  • Installed new marquee light fixture (not original)
  • Installed reproduction side art available at arcadeRenovations.com
  • Installed reproduction control panel overlay available at arcadeRenovations.com
  • Installed reproduction instruction sticker and $.25 sticker available at arcadeShop.com
  • Installed "new" used original Nintendo joystick
  • Installed NOS original coin mechanisms found on Ebay
  • Replaced the base of the cabinet with stronger wood pieces and reinforced them
  • Installed reproduction Nintendo push buttons
  • Installed a new custom 19" arcade monitor

To-Do List: Install a new power supply and wiring harness.


First Played: Just Fun arcade in Ithaca, NY. 1982.


Status: Very good condition. 100% dedicated and working.
