My Games
Too Many Games
After I found out that the classic games from my childhood still existed I had a hell of a time deciding on which ones I wanted, considering I have a finite amount of room in my apartment. My excitement and drive to find certain games and my ease of distraction when I remembered yet another game I had to have caused me to buy, trade and sell games for a long while before I settled down on my top twenty.
At one point I almost broke my bank buying video games because I found certain titles that I didn't think I would ever find like Pepper II, Mouse Trap and Space Firebird. Fortunately I was able to regain control of my video game craze and eventually found satisfaction on the games you see here on this web site.
Since Summer 1998, I have been collecting classic video games. I usually go for games that I played in the arcades back in the day like Assault, or games that I have strong nostalgic ties to, such as Wild Western. Other games, such as Pepper II and Mouse Trap I practically never played in the arcades, but played on classic console systems such as Colecovision. Yet other games I never played as coin-op games until now like Food Fight and Gyruss.
In the end there's never enough room for the number of games I really want. One of these days, when I buy a house, I plan on building an extra wing, which will be a dedicated gameroom with at least 40 to 60 classic video games, an 80's jukebox and a change machine. I want it so I can simply immerse myself, with all the games being played at once, with the jukebox playing the top hits of the early eighties. And then finally I will have recreated a nostalgic moment that I can replay for ever and ever...
